What is Harris House?
Harris House touches the lives of people every day
Through "Recovery with Responsibility"
For individuals struggling with addiction to alcohol and drugs, Harris House helps people achieve sobriety and become healthy and productive individuals. Since our founding in 1961, Harris House has grown to become a top-rated non-profit treatment center. We serve over 500 clients yearly with about 100 beds grouped by program in our seven buildings in South St. Louis.
Our success is based on nearly 50 years of experience, studying what works. We review the latest research and also listen to our clients' feedback. Over the years, Harris House has evolved a holistic approach that recognizes the importance of a comprehensive, individualized treatment and recovery plan. Residents also receive training in employment skills, literacy skills and GED preparation, parenting, anger and stress management, as well as treatment for alcohol and drug problems.
Harris House offers four types of treatment services: [click on each of these for further information]
- Traditional 28-day residential program
- Actively Employed 28-day residential program
- Long-term residential program
- Transitional housing program
