What is Harris House?
Harris House touches the lives of people every day through "Recovery with Responsibility"
For individuals struggling with addiction to alcohol and drugs, Harris House helps people achieve sobriety and become healthy and productive individuals. Since our founding in 1961, Harris House has grown to become a top-rated non-profit treatment center. We serve over 500 clients yearly with about 111 beds grouped by program in our seven buildings in South St. Louis.
Our success is based on over 50 years of experience, studying what works. We review the latest research and also listen to our clients' feedback. Over the years, Harris House had evolved a holistic approach that recognizes the importance of a comprehensive, individualized treatment and recovery plan. Residents also receive training in employment skills, anger and stress management, depression and anxiety, as well as treatment for alcohol and drug problems.
Harris House offers five types of treatment services:
- Traditional 28-day residential program
- Actively Employed residential program
- Intensive outpatient program
- Long-term residential program
- Transitional housing program
Harris House is a charitable, not-for-profit corporation whose primary purpose is to save lives through high quality comprehensive services and to help alcoholic and chemically dependent persons achieve sobriety and become responsible, healthy, and productive individuals.
Harris House is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF International).
