Programs: Actively Employed 28-day residential program

The Actively Employed treatment program is for people with alcohol and substance abuse treatment problems, but who are still working. This treatment program integrates a typical work schedule with more than 30 hours of structured counseling each week on evenings and weekends. Clients go to work every week day, but live at Harris House. Special emphasis is placed on client anonymity; no last names or employment information is ever revealed, even to other members within their treatment group. This treatment option is the least disruptive to a working individual, but still provides very focused treatment so that individuals can make permanent changes in their lives and increase their long-term chances for recovery. Many individuals in this program need a level of intensity beyond being an outpatient in order to recover from alcohol or substance issues.

Medication management can also be provided, and individuals remain in direct contact with their physicians and therapists.

Families are invited to participate in at least two families counseling session per week, and the individual in treatment will also have classes in anger management, parenting skills and dealing with stress and trauma.

Drug testing is mandatory for individuals in this program, which may be relevant to monitoring bodies such as drug court.
